Playing ketchup: China grabs share of tomato production
Tomatoes do not feature in the Chinese national diet yet the country now grows more tomatoes for processing than anywhere except California.
Once mashed into basic paste they are shipped mainly to Europe in industrial quantities to be processed into favourites such as puree, passata, ketchup, pasta sauce and salsa.

Michael Jordan’s ‘McJordan’ 1992 McDonald’s Sauce Hits Ebay for $10K
Jordan and McDonald’s launched the McJordan Burger in 1992. The all-star sandwich consisted of a quarter-pound beef patty with onions, pickles, cheese and bacon and a special barbecue sauce made specifically for the McJordan. The burger was sold at limited franchises around the US for a limited time that year.
Nearly 20 years later, a posting on Ebay brought back the 90s in the form of a unopened, one gallon jug of special McJordan barbecue sauce. The going price? $9,995.

Is Britain bootlegging Pickapeppa sauce?
When the food firm WANIS lost their rights to import the delicious pickapeppa sauce they thought outside of the box by recreating their own version of the recipe, printing fake labels and selling about 30,000 bottles of the counterfeit sauce over the course of 16 months throughout Britain.
From Wikipedia:
Pickapeppa sauce is a Jamaican condiment similar to A1 or Worcestershire sauce, but with a sweeter, mellower flavor. It is sometimes described as “Jamaican ketchup” or “Jamaican A-1”.
